the Foundation

The Cultural Heritage Restoration Foundation (CHRF) is a non-profit organization with over 1,500 civilian members and registered with the South Korean National Assembly.

Its vision is to be "a foundation that fulfills its duties amidst history to ensure the protection and enjoyment of future generations' rights" through the establishment of an international organization under the UN for cultural heritage restoration; the establishment of a network of Korean residents for the protection of overseas cultural heritage; and the development and distribution of educational and cultural contents for the preservation of cultural heritage

Its mission is to have solidarity with international NGOs; to conduct research and policy support for the restoration of illicitly removed cultural heritage; to reform the Korea-Japan Cultural Heritage Agreement; to investigate Korean cultural heritage in major nations; and to do fundraising for the return of privately owned cultural heritage.

For more information on the Foundation and its projects, along with the research they conducted in Europe (Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, etc.) last year, please visit:
