Consultation & Gov't
One of the CHRF's main works include cooperating with the government and other related institutions in providing expertise consultation, access to our domestic/international network, and collaboration on projects.
The National Assembly Forum on Cultural Artifact Restoration
South Korea's National Assemblyman initiated a Forum for research and works regarding cultural heritage restoration, specifically surrounding legislation and policies related to it. Designated as the Forum's Secretariat, CHRF organizes multiple seminars annually on related topics, pursues research and investigative projects, and has seen through legislative/policy changes.
Chungnam Overseas Cultural Heritage Investigation Team
CHRF researchers partake in Chungcheongnam-do's Overseas Cultural Heritage Investigation Team, which was established to conduct research into Korean cultural heritage currently found overseas but was originated from Chungcheongnam-do. Research efforts led to the discovery of previously unrecognized artifacts, collaborative projects, and exhibition loans.
Legal & policy consultation
As an organization registered under South Korea's National Assembly, and by functioning as the Secretariat for the National Assembly Forum on Cultural Artifact Restoration, the CHRF has played key roles in amending, modifying, and passing new laws related to cultural heritage. Most recently it helped to see that the word 'cultural property' would be replaced with 'cultural heritage' by law.
